Chaos ensued Thursday afternoon when a whale was seen looming over the roofs of buildings, moving towards Freezing Pointe at an alarming rate.
Twitch, Freezing Pointe's lone mailwhale carrier, wrought destruction on the town in an out-of-control "mecha-walker", a robotic vehicle of sorts built by local resident and amateur inventor Debbie Palmer.
"I don't know what happened, he was able to control it fine for a while, then all of a sudden he started running like wild and screaming," states Palmer.
Dubbed "Mecha-Twitch" by local residents, this whale/machine ravaged across the city, creating huge fissures in the ice with its spider-like legs, damaging the ice shelf and destroying many buildings and igloos.
"I'm really really sorry for any commotion I caused, I just really wanted to be on land with everyone else, moving around town wherever I wanted... but after that experience, I don't want to be on land anymore!" stated Twitch in an interview.
The chaos ended when the whale and machine plummeted over the rocky coastline, dropping the whale and his vehicle back into the ocean. Shaken and wracked with anxiety, the whale swam deep underwater to get as far away as possible from the deadly machine.
"I'm not even sure why I put that laser cannon onto the mecha-walker... it must have seemed like a good idea at the time," states Debbie Palmer.
Ice Repair Teams are combing through town, repairing any structural damage to the town's buildings and supporting ice shelf. |
